03.02.2010 - The customers of M-Tel are the most active participants in the support for Haiti campaign
The telecom itself contributed to the cause with 20 000BGN through a direct connection to the “Hope for the children of Haiti” phone
The customers of M-Tel have donated 753 000 BGN altogether since the beginning of the campaign (the 22nd of January) to help the children who suffer from the devastating earthquake in Haiti. This amount is raised through SMSs and calls to the UNICEF donating number - 1021.
By calling the same number within the frames of “Hope for the children of Haiti”, organized by UNICEF, the customers of the telecom raised 473463 BGN in 2 hours only. It was them who proved to be the most active participants in the support for Haiti by raising more than a half of the overall amount, which is over 690 000 BGN.
Joining its customers, M-Tel itself donated 20 000 BGN more to support the children from the island country. People like the Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, popular TV faces, as well as singers, arts and other socially engaged people answered gratuitously to these who wished to give hope to the children of Haiti.
